Introduction
This page documents a rogue feature found on K-9 Mail, an email app designed for the Android platform, which causes plain-text emails displaying with HTML looks.
Symptoms
Plain text emails having only euqal signs on a single line will be displayed as line separators on K-9 Mail even though they don't have any HTML-encoded messages in their MIME parts.
This behaviour is confirmed to exist on the app version codenamed 6.602, with code 36002, targeting SDK level of 31.
The background nature of this design concept remains unknown to Li Ao, however the misleading behaviour constitutes a rogue feature as software products should not contain unintended behaviours causing potential harm to people, despite the harm may be intermediated.
Solution
Making alterations on source code and produce custom builds may be able to solve this issue demanding locally uses.
